FF3: Forgiveness

Faith Filled Friday (F3):

A letter written to a man on death row by the Father of the man whom the man on death row had killed:

You are probably surprised that I, of all people, am writing a letter to you, but I ask you to read it in its entirety and consider its request seriously. As the Father of the man whom you took part in murdering, I have something very important to say to you. Continue reading

I Corinthians For Mothers

Author Unknown

If I keep my house immaculately clean, and am envied by all for my interior decorating, but do not show love in my family — I am just another housewife.

If I’m always producing lovely things – sewing, art; if I always look attractive, and speak intelligently, but am not loving to my family — I am nothing.

If I’m busy in community affairs, teach Sunday School, and drive in the carpool, but fail to give adequate love to my family — I gain nothing.

Love changes diapers, cleans up messes, and ties shoes – over and over again.

Love is kind, though tired and frazzled.

Love doesn’t envy another woman — one whose children are “spaced” better, or in school so she has time to pursue her own interests.

Love doesn’t try to impress others with my abilities or knowledge as as a mother.

Love doesn’t scream at the kids.

Love doesn’t feel cheated because I didn’t get to do what I wanted to do today — sew, read, soak in a hot tub.

Love doesn’t lose my temper easily.

Love doesn’t assume that my children are being naughty just because their noise level is irritating.

Love doesn’t rejoice when other people’s children misbehave and make mine look good.

Love is genuinely happy when others are honored by their children.

The Rise Begins…

The-Dark-Knight-Rises-RISE-500x741

Adventurer, thank you for taking the time to read this. If you have subscribed to this blog, I have been a way a long time.  I have been having my fingers in other fondue pots of interests.  For one, the interest of fitness has blossomed inside to where this will be the focus. Now you are invited to continue on this journey if you are a current blog subscriber. If not, you will sorely be missed yet you must do what you feel is best.

This blog will be one that laser focus on the following foundations: Faith, Family, Fun, and Fitness. Each pillar has an essential part. If one is left out, in my humble opinion, the structure will not be strong.

So you are welcome to join this new journey as we strive to Rise and Transform.

Out of the huts of history’s shame
I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Faith-Filled Friday: A Call for Mercy

"Our Christ sacrificed His life on the cross for our sins. . ." - © 2011 The Voice of the Martyrs

Faith-Filled Fridays is when we highlight either devotionals, victories, persecutions of the saints, or other aspects of the Christian faith.

Asia Bibi, a wife and mother, used these words to defend her faith against mocking co-workers who tried to make her convert to Islam. She was later convicted of blasphemy and sentenced to death.

In Pakistan, more than 150,000 Christians have signed a petition demanding justice for persecution victims, including Asia Bibi. Now you can join with The Voice of the Martyrs and our Pakistani brothers and sisters in a call for mercy. We hope to gather 1 million signatures on behalf of our sister Asia, who now sits in prison awaiting the Lahore High Court’s ruling on her appeal.

Invite your friends to visit www.CallForMercy.com and add their names to the petition as well. VOM will deliver the petition, along with the list of signers, to the Pakistani Embassy in Washington DC

So When Are You Due?

Do you have fire insurance? I hope so because this post will be featuring a burning indictment that I will need to discuss. I will make sure to have the proper attitude and present with a clear head as well.

Still, I think this subject needs to be addressed because no one else has been willing to. Now this post will mainly deal with most, not all, Christian men. . .still, something needs to be said in the spirit of humility.

Lightning Strikes…Thor Is Unleashed

Copyright Marvel Comics 2011

Unless you have been out of the country for these two weeks, you would know that Marvel Films has released Thor yesterday.

If you are a Christian, you may be wondering if there are elements you need to be aware of or if this film is family friendly at all.

I have done the footwork for you and will post below Christian movie reviews on the film.

Whether you agree or disagree with the reviews, the result will be ultimately up to you (At least you will not be going to the film blind).

I hope this helps.
